Gibraltar Insurance Institute
The Gibraltar Insurance Institute was formed in September 2008, with support from the GIA, to provide a central organisation for the co-ordination and provision of insurance education and knowledge in Gibraltar.
GII’s key objectives are to:-
- promote higher standard of competence and integrity in the Gibraltar market.
- to liaise with the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) on behalf of local membership.
- improve access to and the effectiveness of local training courses.
- provide a forum for professional and social interaction between its members.
Since inception, membership has grown to over 200 members, representing more half of all insurance industry employees. A mix of technical training courses, business briefings over breakfast and lunch and the popular social events, have enabled the Institute to grow in its early years.
The GII has the status of an Affiliated Institute of the international Chartered Insurance Institute, approved in 2010 and the first overseas institute to be granted that status in over 30 years!
